I was returning … I was returning home to Chicago from Amsterdam. The airport was flooded in.
I landed at O’Hare and was stranded – no one could get in or out by car or subway, but planes continued to land. The airport became more and more crowded – the airport ran out of food . . . people were beginning to panic! Harold Washington considered airlifting in cots for people to sleep on.
Suddenly the subway re-opened . . . I could go on about what happened next, but it was quite an adventure.
