I’ve heard that some states that have teacher shortages allow you to teach as long as you have a bachelors degree in anything. Does illinois have any programs like this? Also, what other states do?
I don’t believe you can teach in IL without a certificate. It used to be that you had to have a teaching degree to even sub in the state but they couldn’t find enough subs so that law went to the wayside. You can however teach private school without a certificate. I would check out www.isbe.net for more information.

Yes there is, all you have to say is "I do." You have to be married to qualify for health insurance. Another thing you can do is join the military.
I will be student teaching at the end of my undergrad in a few years and I would love to know from former student teachers and current illinois teachers what some of the best high schools in the North/Northwest Suburbs of Chicago are, not just from what you’ve read in US News and World Report, but from personal experiences and from word of mouth–especially if you student-taught there! Any other advice or tips about student teaching and how to survive it and prepare for it are also appreciated!
I haven’t taught in Illinois, but I have taught for many years with the ESL program and with a Community College. I did find some sites below on schools in the Chicago area which might assist you in your decision. My advice, if you are serious about teaching, consider teaching at a Community College. There is a world of difference from K-12.
Obama escaped all of the dirt of Illinois politics for now but he still has the dirt on is shoes. How long will it take for the main stream media to realize the White House carpets are all tracked up with mud?
Probably never. The left wing liberal bias media is in the tank for Obama. Can you imagine if a Republican had chosen some tax cheats for cabinet positions? Since he’s a Democrat, it was just a simple mistake. If they would have been Republicans, it would just prove that all Republicans are crooks. Blagovitch they will have to keep quiet…..he knows way too much in illinois politics. And you can’t find anything worse no matter how hard you try. That Chicago political machine is the reason Cook County is called Crook County.
i’m studying for a test coming up and was wondering if anyone can help me with a few of the sample questions it gave me. theres alot of them..i just need help on 5 of them….
1)1. In a single sentence, summarize the rule of law in the Gideon v. Wainwright case as it was decided by the United States Supreme Court.
2)State how the U.S. Supreme Court opinion in the Scott v. illinois case changed the rule of law stated in the Gideon opinion.
3)Gideon argued that under the double jeopardy provision he could not be tried again after the U.S. Supreme Court had ruled in his favor. Why was he incorrect?
4)Four of the U.S. Supreme Court justices who decided the Argersinger v. Hamlin case also decided Gideon v. Wainwright. Name two of the four justices who heard both cases.
5)First, name the United States Supreme Court justice who wrote the decision for the Court in the Gideon case. Second, what was his role in the Betts decision?
Thanks in advance!!
This isn’t business law. This is basic US Constitutional law.
Depending on the college, this would be covered in Con Law (covering all of the constitutional law) or in Con law 2 (covering the bill of rights).
either way, see my answer earlier. Email me your proposed answers, and I can critique you and tutor you if you want. but I won’t do your homework for you. You won’t learn anything that way, but I will help you learn the course material.

On the news channel from Chicago they are expressing that Chicagoans and the people that run the city are really mad at the governor.
They think he is doing the wrong thing by not passing a bill to have that whole state of illinois pay taxes to help the mass transit in the city.
Do the people of Chicago know that there are many other people in the state that do not go to Chicago and use the mass transit.
They do not want to pay taxes for something they are not using.
Why don’t Chicago just get that message and increase the fares for people who use it? Then they can pay their own bills and do their own upkeep of the sysyem.
The other people in the state of Illinois are sick and tired of paying for Chicago to get everything they want.
yes. if all illinois donot want to pay for chicago why dont they throw chicago put of illinois? i think all world should pay or chicago, as well as all chicago pay for the world. we should have a world government.
What taxes does the State of illinois take out of your paycheck and why? And how much does each tax (percentage wise) take from your paycheck? (Example: Medicare 2% of total earnings, etc.)
federal, state, social security, medicare, city
