Rock Island Illinois court question?

ok so if you go to court for a traffic ticket and the officer doesn’t show up does the ticket have to be dropped, i know that’s the way it is in scott county iowa but idk about rock island, i went to court today and the officer didn’t show up for the court date, but they didn’t drop the charges, please tell me if i need to call them and argue about this
i am fighting the charges because they are bogus, i plead not guilty, so i had to schedule a court date, so i show up to court and the cop never showed up

only if your fighting it.. but it can be continued by either party

Just because the cop didn’t show doesn’t mean you didn’t do the crime. C’mon, be a man and take your punishment. Usually, if you show up and have a good/OK excuse why you broke/bent, the fine is dropped or lowered.

No, the case doesn’t have to be dropped. It can be continued.
