Where is a good base to be stationed at on this Dream Sheet?

My boyfriend just sent me his "Dream Sheet" from basic yesterday. So I’m very curious to hear about everyones interactions with these bases. I want to know about the areas around the bases, the size of the bases, the services at the bases, and what the atmosphere is like on the bases. But any other information is welcome. I know obviously he won’t be choosing but I’m just curious to know about all of these places.

1.Peterson Colorado
2.McConnell Kansas
3.Pope North Carolina
4.Hill Utah
5.MacDill Florida
6.Travis California
7.Seymour Johnson Nor Carolina
8.Scott illinois

My nephew loves Peterson and a good friend of mine loves MacDill. I never got stationed at a base on my dream sheet until I went to a remote base. I was given my third choice which wasn’t too good. That base no longer exists.

If your boyfriend is Security Forces, he will get screwed on his choice of bases but it’s a fun career field. He will go to a missile or bomber base and then get deployed to SWA.

Avoid Scott (small-boring-headquarters base), McConnel (cold-remote), and Hill (cold-remote). Bases near larger cities are more fun, but if you like hunting and fishing, there are many bases that could satisfy you.

Use the following link to military.com webpage. It has a bunch of information about all the military bases around the world. Hope it helps.

Ask for Iraq and Afghanistan that way they may just keep you stateside. I never met anyone who got a assignment from the dream sheet but I am sure it happens once in awhile

I assume he’s in the Air Force, because Pope Air Force Base is connected to Fort Bragg, in Fayetteville, NC. It’s a great post, beautiful, lots of amenities. Terrible city. Scummy, dirty, trashy, crime infested city.

    1) Awesome! Denver is a bit creepy in some parts, but great if you like snow

    2) Kansas has a lot of flat. Not a fan
    3)They don’t call it No-Hope Pope for a reason
    4) Same as #1, just insert Salt Lake City for Denver
    5) AWESOME!!!! Tampa is the shiznit!
    6) Dunno, good if you like the beach, I guess
    7) Not a huge fan, but there is worse (see #2 and #3)
    8) Same as #2 except the saving grace of Chicago or Springfield on the weekends
